The Hague: a Royal city

icon walking

You will love the somewhat nostalgic atmosphere of this green city.

Although Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, The Hague is its political and administrative centre. The Hague is also the seat of the Royal Family. Established as a republic since the 16th century and becoming a constitutional monarchy in 1815, there are no huge palaces like in other countries throughout Europe. But the city’s size and location make it all the more accessible. The walk will take you to the House of Parliament, the Royal palace Het Noordeinde, the royal stables and small former palaces like Kneuterdijk.

Your guide can tell you all about our Government and the history of the Dutch Royal Family.
