Historic city
The Amsterdam canal belt was added to Unesco’s World Heritage List in 2010, and when you stroll alongside the canals, you will understand why. Due to urban expansion, a master plan of canals was designed back in the 17th century. Today you can still see the beautiful canal houses with their typical facades and the warehouses which were used to store goods from all over the world. In the midst of the bustling city, you will enter a peaceful inner courtyard, a secluded home for beguines, who used a catholic house church to celebrate mass.
You will experience the charms of the city whilst your guide can tell you all about the past and present way of life in this unique city.
