Haarlem

icon walking

At half an hour’s distance from Amsterdam rises the elegant city of Haarlem. Haarlem has a beautiful old centre with the Saint Bavo's Church, also known as the Grote Kerk, which rises above the old city. On the market square you will find the former town hall, the meat hall and the fish hall. From there we will wander through the quaint streets and alleys of Haarlem passing by some of the typical former almshouses. In former days these houses were provided by the rich to poor elderly women. We will also pass by an old men’s home, which today houses the Frans Hals museum, well worth a visit.
